I'll probably get crap for this but his band was kinda lame too. Way too much forced "metal" posturing and the like. Roy Z was cool so it was mainly the other guitarist that was guilty of this.
I just saw Halford in a club last night and thought it was one of the most fun shows I've ever been to. Had an absolute blast, and loved the whole band. Roy Z is an incredibly guitarist and one hell of a performer, they really put on one hell of a show. The setlist definitely could've been a lot better (needed Silent Screams, Wrath of God, etc) - but the only song in the whole thing I really thought was unnecessary was the title track from Made of Metal. The other songs were all very enjoyable I thought, even though the album is still mediocre.
