The perfect example of this for me is Metallica, if I juge them on how I like 'em now they would not even do my top 50 bands, but in all honestly I have to include them in my list because of these 4 first records that are sooo amazing and these 80's years where they were so dominant live & I used to love them so much back then. Sepultura is another good example of amazing music & love by me up until Max left & I didn't love em anymore that much without him.

See, to me that makes it pretty clear cut. Neither are one of your favourite bands. Nine Metallica albums (not counting Garage Inc.)... you like four. 44% doesn't sound like Top 25 material to me.
