Lamb of God -- Providence, RI -- September 21st, 2009

Venue: Lupos

First, let me start off by saying that I've gone to a lot of shows, alright? And never, ever, have I been to one that was this intense, and painful as well. But here's the review:
We arrived at the venue just as Job for a Cowboy was coming on stage. I honestly do not like death metal, but overall they were okay. Not good, not bad, but I've definetly seen worse. Anyways, heres the setlist from what I can remember:
-Knee Deep
-Consitutional Masturbation
-Entombment of a Machine
They may have played 1 more but again, I'm not a fan of this particular genre of music so I apologize for not knowing the exact details.
Next was GWAR and I didn't really know what to expect from them. I had never heard a single song from them previously so obviously I was completey unfamiliar with their sound and style. After about twenty minutes when Job for a Cowboy finished their set, a video screen came down and started playing this bizare video that apparently was made by GWAR with a ten minute countdown. The video had it's funny moments but ultimately it was really gay and tempermental to the point where everyone was saying "Get the fuck on stage already!" When they came out, they were all wearing these weird ass costumes which, inevitably enough, entertained the crowd quite well. They kept shooting this inky red/black/green water shit into the crowd which drenced everybody. It was awesome though. Their music was okay I guess but after 30 minutes everyone was like okay, you guys done yet? Their songs all sounded the same. Finally, they were done! And no, I didn't know one song, so no setlist. Sorry.
Now, I can't begin to desribe the anticipation and enthusiasm that that particular crowd was feeling. They guy on the side of me yelled "We're gonna fucking die!!" Lmao, it was great. Finally, the lights died down and all hell was unleashed....literally
-The Passing
-In Your Words
-Set to Fail
-Walk with me in Hell
-Now You've got Something to Die For
-Dead Seeds
-Broken Hands
-Laid to Rest
-Black Label
Unfortunately, Mark Morton did not make an appearance tonight but instead the lead guitarist from God Forbid replaced him,(don't know his name). He did an awesome job though. So yeah, needless to say, I fucked my knee up, my ribs on both sides hurt, my neck hurts, and I have a big ass bruise on my leg. But you know what? I'd do it all over again! Thanks for reading my review.
Stay Metal
