The new album (Perpetual Flame) is actually quite good. I feel it's the most straightforward heavy metal/hard rock album that Yngwie has done. The more classical-influenced tunes don't really start until the second half of the album. These tunes are also good, but the first five or six songs really just wallop you in the gut. The heaviness is also due of course to Tim "Ripper" Owens' singing style which truly hits home on this album. I hope Tim sticks around for a few more Yngwie albums cause I love them as a team. A very good album all around.
