Thomas Whitaker of The Sun has written the music industry for the increasing volumes on album releases. Quoting Geoff Emerick, an engineer on the Beatlesí Sgt Pepperís album: ďA lot of what is released today is basically a scrunched up mess..... Whole layers of sound are missing. Itís because record companies donít trust listeners to decide themselves if they want to turn the volume up.Ē
