I like Arch Enemy... Doomsday get the occasional listen, although fewer than their older albums.
What makes Black Metal so Black is the whole Satan thing, less musical structure. Sure, there are going to more variances with a genre based on a theme. A better comparision to metalcore would be thrash... much less variance there. Thrash is about a certain rhythm, as is Metalcore. I do hear a difference in some metalcore. I like Bleeding Through a lot, mainly because of the keyboards. With All That Remains, I hear some meoldic rhythms within the metalcore structure that make a bit different to other bands in my collection. Compare both to As I Laying Dying ( a very generic metalcore)... I hear differences.
