Yeah. The way I see it it's just a retelling of jesus's death from jesus's perspective. That said, there have been right wing groups to take it way out of context and call it a "satanic song". And Dave might simply think it doesn't portray what was going through Jesus's mind in the same way that his religion does (although the song does seem like a realistic and human version).
