Tarot -- Kouvola, Finland -- February 6th, 2009
Now that Nightwish is on a short break, Marco Hietala has time to tour with his own band, Tarot.
I've seen them a few times before but this one was by far the best in many ways. The setlist was leaning towards the older albums and they even played some rarely heard classic hits from "Spell Of Iron" (1986) and "Follow Me Into Madness" (1988).
The place was full and crowd was cheering and singing them on stage already an hour before showtime. And 30 minutes before midnight Tarot came and rocked the shit out of Kouvola.
pyre of gods
crows fly black
follow me into madness
rose on the grave
angels of pain
live hard die hard
neon knights (sabbath cover)
love's not made for YOUR kind*
*yes they've changed it. Marco said that it would feel a bit weird to sing "love's not made for MY kind" now that "We are a group of old hippies who have children of our own and all..."
Damn, I want to see Tarot SOOO bad. I bet that Neon Knights cover was fucking awesome
Fuck I would love to see Tarot. Let's get them over to the US for a few dates eh?
You know, this Nightwish break is the perfect time for them to headline the ProgPower USA Showcase...Or a few dates in, like, NYC or something...COME ON TAROT!
