Danzig -- Detroit, MI -- October 24th, 2008
The following is what Danzig and Dimmu Borgir played at the Fillmore friday night. It was really intense show. The crowd was into Borgir as if they were living legends, and when Danzig came on, everyone was singing along. Great time. I witnessed both bands from the mezzanine seating area, which blew a little because everyone around was doing shit, but whatever, i rocked out, so thats what matters.
Dimmu Borgir 1. Intro 2. Progenies of the Great Apocalypse 3. The Serpentine Offering 4. The Chosen Legacy 5. The Sinister Awakening 6. Kings of Carnival Creation 7. The Reptile 8. Spellbound 9. The Sacriligious Scorn 10. Puritania 11. Mourning Palace 12. The Fallen Arise (outro) Danzig 1. Wotan’s Procession/Skin Carver 2. Twist of Cain 3. Am I Demon 4. Tired of Being Alive 5. Her Black Wings 6. Devil’s Plaything 7. Left Hand Black 8. How The God’s Kill 9. Brand New God 10. Satan’s Crucifiction 11. Black Mass 12. Lilin 13. Black Angel, White Angel 14. Mother ------ 15. She Rides 16. Dirty Black Summer Black Mass might not of been played, i did some youtubing after to see what the 11th and 12th song, and i forget what 11 was, but from a previous setlist it said Black Mass, so im going with that cause of how it sounded. It is interesting to note Danzig actually asks the audience what they want to hear as the encore, She Rides or Killer Wolf. Unfortunately it was She Rides, Fortunately there was a girl infront of me who was doing the dancing like in the music video, so that was an added imagery bonus. |
pretty awesome set. Lilin was probably played before Black Mass, though, since he is playing songs in chronological order for that portion of the set.

Great Show!
Hell Yea! I was there! that was such a good show! I totally got lost in the ghetto on the way down though (i live like 2 hours away from detroit.) Yea being the only white kid within like two miles of where i was, was pretty sweet though. Haha but the show was sick. I made it just in time for Winds of Plague! Thank god! I love that band! That was my seconed time seeing them and there amazing as ever. During Winds of Plague and Dimmu Borgir I was one person back from the barricade which was sweet, except that i was surrounded by people smoking the worst weed ever.
During Dimmu Borgir though i thought that the crowd was REALLY mellow. We did treat them like they were superstars but the pit was empty! Everyone was sitting at the bar or in the balcony! But it was sweet. Then Danzig. Damn he had the flu and still sounded amazing! The Fillmore went crazy when he came on, the pit was absolutley full! I was still really close until some big drunk mfkr literally picked me up and moved me back but then i got my spot back. It was so sweet with everybody singing along! When he played "tired of being alive", the place went absolutley insane, I think that was the best song of the set. Yea it was really sweet. One of the greatest shows ive been to! |
