Favorite Video Game Music
The first Video Game that I remember having hypnotic music was Need For Speed 3: Hot Pursuit on the Playstation. This music played in between races as you were llining up the cars and the tracks.... Late at night, after 2am.... you just get into another world with NFS3!
It was the first, and it still is special to me to day, although I haven't actually played NFS:3 in a long while. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rie6aneqnPg I remember well the full Music Videos that showed with Road Rash on the Sega CD system. Road Rash soundtrack is listed below: Soundgarden: Rusty Cage, Superunknown, Kickstand, Outshined Paw: Pansy, Jessie, The Bridge Hammerbox: Trip, Simple Passing Sugar Ray: Mean Machine Therapy?: Teethgrinder, Auto Surgery Monster Magnet: Dinosaur Vacume Swervedriver: Duel, Last Day on Earth, Last Train to Satansville http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iXuJGUKCjS8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PIjQWntM7vQ And, the wonderful world of Ecco The Dolphin, also on the Sega system. Ecco had insane music. :D
I love Final Fantasy music as well, Nobuo Uematsu is kind of a genius. But really theres only 3 games who's soundtracks I actually listen to pretty regularly: Legend Of Zelda - Ocarina of Time(best zelda OST), Sonic The Hedgehog 2 (best sonic OST), and Killer7 (which is probably the best of them all; it's such an underrated work of art). I'm a video game music nerd. Trying not to explode all over this thread. Edit: I never played Final Fantasy VI before, but I just started recently. I was totally fucking impressed by this games version of the Prelude theme (which is in just about every FF game in some way or another). I think this might be my favorite version. http://youtube.com/watch?v=q_XS0aNy53U It's fucking amazing. |
Not really.
Also, Pokemon Game Boy games ruled.
Yes really. |
Not really.
Yes really.
I found out about lots of punk and metal bands through THPS games. And dammit if the Poke Center theme isn't the catchiest melody ever. |
