MEGADETH: New Guitarist Rumors Heat Up

Source: Blabbermouth

MEGADETH is rumored to have tapped Chris Broderick (NEVERMORE, JAG PANZER) as the replacement for lead guitarist Glen Drover.

Although MEGADETH has yet to confirm Glen's departure via its official web site, numerous postings on various message boards (including MEGADETH's official forum, where such messages are regularly deleted) have suggested that Drover has left the band in order to focus on family life.

Don't know if this is true or not.....

Does it really matter?

I saw Chris Broderick fill in for Steve Smyth when I saw Nevermore, and he did an awesome job. And Jag Panzer are really good. I don't know if the rumors are true, but I dont see how adding him to the band could hurt the writing process.

I am also heard a rumor (which I think has been discredited) that Jeff Waters of Annihilator was going to fill in. I think thats false, but it would still kick a ton of ass. :D

This is getting ridiculous.

I really really don't care about Megadeth anymore, live or studio.

Glen has zero stage presence, so it really doesn't matter.

Broderick is a technically phenomenal player, but he's absolutely soulless as a soloist. It's just runs up and down scales, arpeggios, and random flowery technique. I own 3 Jag Panzer albums, and I seriously can only tell you what one of the solos sound like. JP are great though, I want them to tour again.

Seconded. He's an absolutely brilliant player technically but absolutely ZERO feel. I'd much rather him stay with Jag Panzer and see them crank out a new album than join Megadeth as well.
