Van Halen -- Chicago, IL -- October 18th, 2007
Tour: Fall 2007 Tour
Headliner: Van Halen Support: Ky-Mani Marley Venue: United Center Date: 10/18/2007 This was my second show for the Van Halen tour. It had the same set as the Indianapolis show, but Eddie's guitar solo was a bit different. I thought that I would list it for those of you who would be interested, or for those who may have attended but failed to write down the set list. Other than Dave forgetting the lyrics a couple of times during the show, it was great. The place was packed and obviously sold out. A couple of cool things about this show and the Indy show were Dave's guitar and harmonica playing. Before playing Somebody Get Me A Doctor, Dave played a brief but cool harmonica solo. Also, before Ice Cream man, Dave told a great story about his early days with Van Halen, while playing the acoustic guitar. Kind of soft playing, while narrating his story. I don't want to ruin the story for those who will attend, so I won't provide it. Dave then started with the accoustic part to Ice Cream Man. Dave is actually a great guitar player, and tore those riffs up! Who would have thought that was possible? Like the Indy show, we were also provided with the song 316. In Indy, Eddie said "I love you Wolfgang," right after he played it. In Chicago, he didn't. I would guess that Eddie forgot or that his son pissed him off that day! Also, we skipped the Ky-Mani Marley part of the show, as that music just doesn't belong on a Van Halen tour. Set list: You Really Got Me I'm the One Runnin' With the Devil Romeo Delight Somebody Get Me a Doctor Beautiful Girls Dance the Night Away Atomic Punk Everybody Wants Some So This Is Love? Mean Street Pretty Woman Drum Solo Unchained I'll Wait And the Cradle Will Rock Hot for Teacher Little Dreamer Little Guitars Jamie's Cryin' Ice Cream Man Panama 316 Guitar Solo Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love 1984 Jump |
Glad to hear it's still going strong, keep it up guys!
