Recommendation time, folks
These are the bands I've been seriously digging lately, and with Christmas around the corner, I'll be most likely getting some cash with which to buy some CDs. So gimme some help. I'll list the ones I already have after the band name so you don't recommend me those:
Clutch- Clutch, Pure Rock Fury Tool- 10,000 Days Yes- Close to the Edge, Drama, Talk, Magnification King Crimson- In the Court of the Crimson King, Red Pink Floyd- Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals, The Wall, The Division Bell Peter Gabriel- So, Us, Up Thanks in advance :horns: |

I didn't ask for low budget garage produced power metal bullshit. |

How about some high quality bullshit power metal? The latest Rhapsody studio album is a damn fine effort, although I can't reccommend their live ablum enough. Sonata Arctica's recent live album is pretty good too. Even Bouville likes Gamma Ray's Majestic. You can't go wrong with any of these. :ecw: :agree: |

 :ecw: :agree:
I'm not in a power metal mood, but I'm definitely a fan of Sonata Arctica. Gamma Ray not so much and Rhapsody not at all. But if anyone has suggestions for the listed bands, my ears are open ;) |

are you kidding me? They are most professional sounding for their first album...besides, you said you liked them a little. How about this then... Machine Men-Elegies |

Heh, before I even saw this thread, I posted albums from three of those bands here: http://www.metalsetlists.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6071&page=3. So I hope that means that those were good picks.

Thank you Jeff and Dylan, I'll look into those first.
People: this isn't open forum, I'm only buying albums of specific bands! |
