Killswitch Engage -- London, UK -- August 23rd, 2006

I don't really listen to these guys much anymore, but when I was in my early teens Killswitch were one of my favorite bands and one of the main reasons why I started to listen to Heavier music.

Anyways this gig was going to be very intimate (venue was 300 capacity) and at only 15 a ticket I thought I might as well go along :horns:

Heres the setlist just incase there are any closet KSE fans on this board :D

1. A Bid Farewell
2. Fixation On The Darkness
3. When Darkness Falls
4. New Song
5. Breathe Life
6. Life To Lifeless
7. This Fire Burns
8. Take This Oath
9. Rose Of Sharyn
10. Holy Diver
11. My Last Serenade
12. The End Of Heartache
- - - - - ENCORE - - - - -
13. Self Revolution
14. Numbered Days

As you can see not an overly long set, but an impressive one. There was no barrier to seperate the fans from the stage so after much persistance I managed to get on stage with Howard and the guys before being thrown back into the crowd! :D

The new song sounded good, it was very thrash and had a much less emo vibe than previous album 'The End Of Heartache', although I'm not sure I'll be picking it up anytime soon.

Overall, a pretty damn good show :rocker:

I like A Bid Farewell and The End of Heartache from when I owned that album (shh...:eyes: ) and their Holy Diver cover is terrific. Glad to hear you had fun.

Hecho is the biggest KSE slut on the board. :D

That's sweet they're putting "Holy Diver" in their set. I really dig their cover. It's also sweet to see Dio gettin' some love :horns:

BUT THE BEST WORK DIO DID WAS WITH SABBATH & RAINBOW
(HIS SOLO STUFF IS OK BUT NOT GREAT)

DIO = ONE OF THE GREATEST SINGERS IN ROCK (METAL) HISTORY BUT SUCKS AT WRITING LYRICS WITHOUT THE HELP OF BLACKMORE OR IOMMI.

 You don't have to be so ashamed that you USED to like that album, I own far worse and more embarrassing music (:eyes: Limp Bizkit, Staind :eyes: )

Yeah it was great to hear Holy Diver. I didn't think theyd play it, but it sounded great! Did a really good job covering that :horns:

Interesting. I agree that Dio's Sabbath works shit over the rest, but I always preferred his solo stuff to Rainbow and Deep Purple :horns:

I enjoy KSE; I've seen them as an opener twice and had a great time both times. I'd love to see them do Holy Diver live.
