Unholy Alliance -- Camden, NJ -- June 15th, 2006
Ok, I finally got around to this...here goes!! Myslef, my brother, and our friend Jamie got off the train at the Tweeter Center at about 5:15. The first band, Thine Eyes Bleed, came on right at 5:30 (i've never seen a show start on time). They were pretty good. I enjoyed them. I don't know their songs though, so I have no clue what they played. Mastodon was next. If you don't like Mastodon, WOW! Mastodon is an amazing breed of new american heavy metal. They always kick ass live. I've seen them a few times, but this time was the best I think. Their setlist was:
Iron Tusk March of the Fire Ants Circle of the Cysquatch Where Strides the Behemoth Mother Puncher Aqua Dementia (new song) Megalodon Blood And Thunder Up next was one of my favorites, Children of Bodom. They had a weird intro like always, I didn't recognize the song though. They kicked off with "Silent Night, Bodom Night". They sounded HORRIBLE!!! Their sound was off and they just didn't play like all the other times I've seen them. I don't know if they were tired from their non-stop touring or if they were just annihilated, but they sounded like shit. The crowd was into them though. Their correct setlist was: Intro Silent Night, Bodom Night Needled 24/7 In Your Face Angels Don't Kill Living Deadbeat Hate Me! Downfall Up next was Lamb of God. I'm not the biggest Lamb of God fan, but they're not bad. They were pretty good this night though. Everyone was REALLY into them alot. The songs I know they played were: (in no order) Laid to Rest Now You've Got Something to Die For Purify The Faded Line Black Label Up next was the mighty SLAYER!!!! When they lowered their amps, they were all tied together to make a shape of an inverted cross. Very fucking cool!! When they hit the stage, people went ape shit!! Slayer is one of my favorite bands to see live, and they didn't disapoint me at all!! I just wish they would have played "Black Magic" or "The Final Command". Their setlist was: South of Heaven Silent Scream War Ensemble Blood Red Cult Disciple Mandatory Suicide Seasons in the Abyss :rocker: Chemical Warfare Dead Skin Mask Hell Awaits Raining Blood Antichrist :rocker: Angel of Death After the show, we had to pay $70 for a cabride home, other than that, the night was great!!! :rocker: |
Fantastic write-up, thanks a bunch and glad it rocked!!!!:rocker:

A $70 cab ride? Goddamn! How long was the drive?

I love that Slayer setlist, and the Mastodon one is great too. I guess they thought Hearts Alive would be lost on a Slayer audience though :(

I'm sure it was more of a time restriction thing. If you're in a supporting slot, you want to play as many songs as possible. |
Great review Bloodcurse
Slayer is Slayer: always intense and great in concert ! I hope Bodom's get their act togheter before the Montreal gig though Cheers !! PowerMaiden |

Yeah, but I'd easily trade like three of those for Hearts Alive :D |
