Megadeth -- Charlotte, NC -- December 5th, 2013

Venue: The Fillmore

Hangar 18
Wake Up Dead
In My Darkest Hour
Tornado Of Souls
Sweating Bullets
Set The World Afire
A Tout Le Monde
Kingmaker
Trust
She-Wolf
Symphony Of Destruction
Cold Sweat (Thin Lizzy cover) - with Ron McGovney on vocals
Peace Sells
Holy Wars...The Punishment Due

I had no plans to post the setlist as we all know what they are playing, but we got a little treat last night. Dave introduced Ron McGovney, who apparently lives in or near Charlotte, and he shared vocal duties as they tore through Cold Sweat. The vocals had been low in the mix all night so we could barely hear him, but it still was a neat add on to the night.

How odd, is Ron McGovney a singer now? Jeez, give him a phantom bass at least. Like when I used to play Nintendo with my younger relatives I used to give them a controller that wasn't plugged in...but they thought it was and had a great time anyway!

I've had that happen to me while hammered :eyes:.

14 songs instead of 13! Big whoop. OP, how was the turnout?

My friend that went said Dave Mustaine fired congress.

Must've gone on another political rant.

Just yesterday I was looking at old Megadeth setlists and remembered I went to a 2-night stint here in NYC roughly 10 years ago where they did a 23 and 24 song set, it was flippin' amazing. Now it's half that...unbelievable really!

Yeah, there's no good reason that they can't play 4 more songs.

There was a solid turnout - the place was pretty full. Taking a wild ass guess I'd say 85% capacity which is around 1,600 people.

Thankfully it wasn't a full on political rant. That comment followed a minor (and I do mean minor) rant about some politician that called a Christmas tree a "holiday" tree.

I drove 6 hours for their last show in Charlotte. So glad I didn't for this one.

Yeah, I remember those shows, they were absolutely fucking incredible.

My interest in seeing Megadeth has decreased by 100% since then because... well, yeah... My overall interest in Megadeth's music has probably only decreased by 10% so it's not like a major change of taste either. :hmm: :hecho:

Look at how far things have slumped since Endgame...
