Lamb of God -- Toronto, Ontario -- October 24th, 2013
Date: Wednesday, October 24, 2013
Venue: Sound Academy
This was the second show of Lamb of God's fall tour and the second night in Toronto. The band were in top form and sounded great. Randy repeatedly mentioned how great it always is to play in Canada and discussed his love for the Trailer Park Boys. He noted the band had been awarded two gold records in Canada and nowhere else. Hearing a few tracks off Palaces was a welcome change and the crowd seemed to really enjoy it with a great deal of moshing and crowd surfing throughout the evening.
Killswitch Engage had technical difficulties causing them delay in getting on the stage and several pauses during their set. They apologized profusely for the issues and thanked Lamb of God for allowing them to go over their time limit and play the full set. "You Don't Bleed For Me" was a real standout in their set for me - you could feel the band's energy and passion.
Testament sounded solid and got the crowd moving but they had a bunch of on stage props/backgrounds which I have not seen them play with before. Huntress brought good energy as openers but I am not familiar enough with them to give a setlist.

I wish that, for crowd surfers, the guard rail in front of the stage did not lead back into the crowd but straight to the exit.
I would like to see this tour but the LoG and Testament sets are pretty standard. I can't go anyway so just as well I guess.
It's a shame that LOG have really just given up as far as a decent set goes.

I love me some Testament, but they really need to switch up their setlists.
I mean, when you only get the time for seven songs then playing the hits and a few cuts from the album you are supporting is expected. There was some cool stuff from The Gathering thrown in on their the last headline run.
Stop playing 3 Days of Darkness for fuck's sake.
It fit for 2012. It's almost 2014 now.
When I saw them in February, Chuck said something to the effect of, "Well, it looks like we survived 2012... but here's what could have happened. 3 Days in Darkness."
Lamb of God is saved by the presence of Vigil, I can't even imagine the chaos that causes live.

Would love to hear it.
