Hatebreed -- Flint, MI -- October 10th, 2013

Battlecross opened the show. This was essentially a homecoming for them, and the sold out crowd absolutely went crazy. They destroyed the place! They also announced a headlining show at the Machine Shop on 12/20. I'll be there. They said that Wayne from Hatebreed's favorite song of theirs is "Flesh & Bone." I second that. Adam from All Shall Perish played drums for them.

Battlecross setlist
Man Of Stone
Breaking You
Never Coming Back
Force Fed Lies
Beast
Flesh & Bone
Push Pull Destroy

The Acacia Strain - Who cares? NEXT!

Shadows Fall is always fantastic live, but they were extra energetic at this show and gave Hatebreed a really tough act to follow. That's hard to do. They were excellent. I particularly enjoyed "Stepping Outside The Circle" and "The Light That Blinds."

Shadows Fall setlist
The Power Of I and I
King of Nothing
Weight of the World
Thoughts Without Words
The Light That Blinds
Stepping Outside the Circle
A Public Execution
Divide & Conquer
War (Bob Marley cover)

Hatebreed headlined, and they were incredible as always. Matt from Shadows Fall played bass for them, and he "saved the tour," by doing so according to Jamey Jasta because Hatebreed's bassist broke his arms 2 days before the tour started, and Matt learned a whole Hatebreed set in that time frame. So, 3 cheers for him & Shadows Fall! "Tear It Down" was a nice choice for the opening song. They played my 2 favorite songs off of their last CD, "Honor Never Dies" & "Indivisible." Other highlights were "Destroy Everything" & "Perseverance." They dedicated "Last Breath" to their former guitar tech & the ex-Eighteen Visions guitarist who recently died. They said this was their last US show for a long time before they go to Canada and then the rest of the world. Then next Fall they'll do a 20th anniversary tour & then work on a new record. I already can't wait! Even though I've probably seen them over 25x now, their shows are always killer! Seeing Hatebreed never gets old because they're one of the best live bands around.

Hatebreed setlist

Before Dishonor
Smash Your Enemies
Dead Man Breathing

Pretty sure that already happened this year?

And I don't know about you guys but I always liked how Hatebreed always takes out diverse support... but that's just me.

Dying Fetus and SF are great support but ya hardcore openers would make more sense.
