KoRn -- Detroit, MI -- October 1st, 2013
Love & Death opened the show. I saw them open for P.O.D. 2 years ago, and they were just OK. However, this set was much better. It was short b/c Head had to pull double duty at this show, but they definitely rocked the house & had tons of energy. I'll definitely go see them again.
Love & Death setlist
I W8 4 U
Whip It (Devo cover)
Next was Asking Alexandria. I saw them last year on MayhemFest. I know they're huge right now, but I really do not see why. To me, they are extremely average.
KoRn headlined. I hadn't seen them since MayhemFest 2010. I'd normally never miss them. They've been one of my favorite bands since I was 13, but the last time they were in town August Burns Red played the same night, so I went to see ABR instead. Anyway, it was cool seeing KoRn in a club instead of a huge venue. There was a 9-year-old kid next to me w/ his mom, and this was his 1st concert ever. Nice choice. He was wearing a KoRn tour shirt that went down past his knees. I guess he'll grow into that one. That kid was having a BLAST the entire show, so that made it even more fun. Just like old times, when "Blind" kicked in the floor turned into an absolute war zone! I'm so glad they have gone back to opening w/ that song instead of trying to play it at the end. That might be the best opening song by any band. They had the KoRn Kage again on this tour where a group of fans watch their set from behind the band on stage in a cage that looks like a prison cell. They had that on the Rock Is Dead tour w/ Rob Zombie in 1999. The setlist was pretty standard. No big surprises. Unfortunately they did not play "Clown," which for me was the highlight of the entire 2010 MayhemFest. I'm sorry, I don't mean to whine, but "Y'All Want a Single" might be the dumbest song ever written. Besides that, though, the show was fantastic! What a night!
Falling Away From Me
Love & Meth (new song)
Dead Bodies Everywhere
Did My Time
Shoots & Ladders / Somebody Someone (snippet)
Never Never (new song)
Here To Stay
Y'All Want a Single
Prey For Me (new song)
Another Brick In The Wall / Goodbye Cruel World (Pink Floyd cover)
Got The Life
Freak On a Leash
I am not a Korn fan, but their version of Another Brick is so good.
No more dub step in your set please.

Hey Matthew, is that you? This is Noah, the dude from Facebook you met at the show. But yeah, I totally agree they were outstanding. Have a good time at GWAR in Milwaukee tonight!

hahaha yeah its me. thanks man you too at AX7
I was debating going to the Toronto show the night before. I didn't end up going, and i'm somewhat glad I skipped out on it with that setlist which is just a greatest hits set with some new songs (that and because of the venue choice + AA opening). They always put on a good live show though, and I do regret not seeing them with Head for the first time since 2003. Oh well. I've seen 'em 6 times.
What was the age range at this show, out of curiosity? I'd expect it to be mostly 20-somethings but with Asking Alexandria opening were there a lot of teenagers (not including kids with their parental chaperones who are likely the Korn fans of the group).

I think you're the first non-Korn fan i've seen say anything good about that cover.
