Van Halen -- Paso Robles, CA -- July 24th, 2013
Part of a 4 day trip to Disneyland and back, killer way to end it. The scheduled time was 7:30, they ended up going on a little after 8 without an opener and played until 9:50. Strange but nice since we still had a 3 hour drive home. Also if you've never heard of Paso Robles, you shouldn't be surprised. It was a much different crowd than what I'm used to seeing at shows to say the least
Dave is still Dave, even if his voice has settled down over the years. The guitar solo was as good as I've ever seen and in the next song Dave even said "excellent guitar solo tonight, Edward".
They also said that this would be the last show "for a while". Pretty clear that it's the end of the touring cycle, but whether or not we get another one remains to be seen.
Setlist is pretty much standard for the entire tour, except they dropped The Trouble With Never which I think is a good idea.
Runnin' With the Devil
She's the Woman
Everybody Wants Some
Somebody Get Me a Doctor
Hear About It Later
You Really Got Me
Dance the Night Away
Hot for Teacher
Ice Cream Man
-Guitar Solo (Eruption, Spanish Fly, Cathedral, etc.)
Ain't Talkin' 'bout Love
Bummer that it doesn't look like they're gonna make up the cancelled dates from last summer. :(

Hoping they go back in the studio and do a Summer tour next year
DLR is posting on his facebook that "Van Halen is dutch for vagina" and "if you turn the logo upside down it looks like a whale's vagina", so odds that this was the last show ever just skyrocketed.

Or he could just be excited for Anchorman II?
I don't see a reason for another breakup. Everyone seems happy these days, especially Ed.
To the contrary, I think we'll be seeing more VH soon. Since Tremonti's got his hands full with Alter Bridge for the next year or so, that means Wolf's got nothing going on.
Wolf + Alex + sober Ed = Production.
