Queens of the Stone Age -- Brooklyn, NY -- June 7th, 2013
Seeing Queens of the Stone Age - for the first time - at the Brooklyn Masonic Temple was unreal. Definitely never going to have an opportunity to see them that up close and personal without spending a fortune in the process.
Personally, I love the new album. "...Like Clockwork" is probably the best album they've put out since "Songs for the Deaf." Hearing in its entirety live was beyond incredible. Plus 3 SFTD tracks as an encore? For a practically last minute secret show, I couldn't have asked for more.
Keep Your Eyes Peeled
I Sat by the Ocean
The Vampire of Time and Memory (w/ Josh on piano)
If I Had a Tail
My God is the Sun
Fairweather Friends (first time performed; never before rehearsed according to Homme)
I Appear Missing (HOLY FUCK what an amazing song)
You Think I Ain't Worth a Dollar, But I Feel Like a Millionaire
No One Knows
Song for the Dead
I also love the new album so this show was perfect for me also. I waited for am hour on pouring rain for a spot on the rail and it was worth it. I agree with you about I Appear Missing, the live versions kills! I expected to hear every new song minus Fairweather since they hadn't been playing it but the entire album was sweet. Finally leaving the city right know but I'd do it all again.
I'm still not catching on to it other than for a couple of tracks. And I usually love everything Josh touches.
