Fucking Cobalt set. Fuck. Could only be improved by adding "A Starved Horror" and "When Serpents Return."
Fucking Cobalt set. Fuck. Could only be improved by adding "A Starved Horror" and "When Serpents Return."
Yeah, it was quite specfuckingtacular. They played the best stuff from "Gin" for sure. "Arsonry" had me pounding on my chest I was so fucking pumped. You should go see them in Pittsburgh on Monday at the Smiling Moose. It's much closer than Baltimore, and our very own moobys37 booked the show just for die-hard Cobalt fans like you and me.
By the way, Phil was really cool and had tipped me off that "Arsonry" was coming before they played, and Erik was as gracious as he was the first time I met him in Cleveland touring with Bruce Lamont. Obviously, it was also a pleasure watching him beat the shit out of the drum kit as well, though. :D
That Cobalt set is almost identical to what I've always wanted. I agree though, I'd like When Serpents Return.
Eater of Birds
For a first time listener, Cobalt was awesome. Some of the best live vocals ever
For a first time listener, Cobalt was awesome. Some of the best live vocals ever
As much as it was a dream come true to finally see them perform live, they are SO MUCH better on album. Their playing is tight and well-produced (especially on "Gin"), and the ambient stuff adds a layer of awesomeness that just can't be reproduced live (although Erik said they are going to try on their upcoming "mini-tour"). Welcome to the flock - now give them a serious listen - STAT. :D

It's a shame Bolt Thrower's set got cut short though, they were killer.
I still don't like Cobalt
I filmed Abigail's Satanik Metal Fucking Hell although the secruity guard was standing on the water cooler so his head makes a bunch of unwanted appearances.
