What's the most money you've ever spent on music (in a physical format)?

For all you collectors out there.

I'm not talking about re-releases or special editions of an album with a poster, a t-shirt and five DVD's of bonus footage. I mean a single album (double albums do count), CD or vinyl?

I remember before the internet was popular (around 1999) Slayers 'Reign in Blood' was only available on import in Canada. I bought it for thirty dollars Canadian plus tax, so in the end it came close to thirty five dollars.

Some other notables are the early Enslaved albums were all twenty eight dollars plus taxes in Canada until recently (a.k.a. after I'd bought them all). Then they all dropped to around fifteen to twenty dollars. And I remember forever seeing the Dillenger Escape Plans 'Under the Running Board' for twenty five dollars at my local record store. I never bought it, and after I found out it was only seven minutes long I was glad I didn't (I did hear it thought and it was pretty good).

But there has to be worse.

I paid about $40 for a (used) vinyl copy of Sleater-Kinney's first album, and a similar price for their first 7".

I believe I got Melechesh's "As Jerusalem Burns" for $23 and Sworn's "Aleviation" for $25.

OH oh oh, and many years ago I got NME's "Unholy Death" on Vinyl for a good chunk of money....can't recall how much it was.

My first huge paycheck I got from one of my jobs, I spent $50 or $60 on my 2xLP original vinyl copy of Dopesmoker by Sleep.

Probably the 120 bucks I spent on Live Shit: Binge and Purge in VHS format.

Black Sabbath - Cross Purposes

Never released in the states, so I had to track it down on eBay.

After shipping, it came to 28 bucks.

Not counting box sets, probably the vinyl reissue of The Shape of Punk to Come that came out last record store day. It was about $25.

$30 for a vinyl copy of Nothingface by Voivod. I think I paid somewhere around that amount for a vinyl copy of Extreme Aggression by Kreator as well.

$30 for Nightmare - Avenged Sevenfold vinyl

Don't say a word about that.
