Iron Maiden - Maiden England '88 DVD/CD/LP
EMI are proud to announce the highly anticipated release of the Double Disc DVD MAIDEN ENGLAND ‘88 on 25 March. Now available for the very first time on DVD, this live show was filmed across two sold-out nights at Birmingham N.E.C Arena, UK in November 1988 during the band’s “Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son World Tour”.
The Maiden England ‘88 concert soundtrack will also be made available on 2CD album, Limited Edition double vinyl picture disc and Digital Download formats. The audio had previously only ever been available before on CD as part of EMI’s 1994 Sound And Vision Series packaged alongside the VHS, but with two tracks fewer than the video contained. Can I Play With Madness and Hallowed Be Thy Name were not featured as there was no space on the 1CD disc. Now with the three encores also included the double disc offers a total of 5 tracks previously unavailable on CD making this the first full and complete audio recording release of this historic tour.

Great that it's getting a CD release too, great that the encores have been included, great that the DVD has the Birch mix and a new Shirley mix, great that we get the next History part and 12 Wasted Years, bummer that they didn't use the original art. I like the horse image a lot but they are using it to death. This should definitely have the original motorcycle image on the front. Also, I wonder which mix is on the CD.
So does this mean they won't be releasing a video of their current Maiden England tour? It would be odd to release this and then basically release the same thing again later this year or early next. I would love to see a blu ray of the new tour but it would be nice to see 12 Wasted Years again, haven't seen that since VHS.

Pretty much a guarantee to be the new Shirley mix, I imagine.
So, too much bass and thin guitars it is!

I expect that's the exact reason they've re-named this one "Maiden England '88", so they can release "Maiden England 2013" next year.
Should have used the original cover art for this one though, instead of relegating it to the second disc in each configuration. Then they could have used the appropriate new cover art for the new one.
Won't be rushing to get this either way though, as I have the original.
Why not the original artwork?:confused:
I realize it's an old show, but is it too much to ask for a Blu-Ray?
Too mega sweet! And I'm so glad the songs after the encore will be included too!

 I wish! I had the same thought. Not sure the technology behind it, but you see movies all the time from the 70s and 80s being rereleased in BluRay format.
If it was shot on film, it's good to go for Blu-ray.
Film has a way higher resolution than 1080p.
One DVD please
