Shadows Fall -- Birmingham, AL -- November 14th, 2012
I was pretty pissed about the turn out. Even though it was on a Wednesday there were still only about 50 people there max. That's why we don't ever get any shows, Birmingham!
Trumpet The Harlot opened the show and weren't bad, but not original. I was just thankful that it wasn't shitty metalcore.
First time seeing Thy Will Be Done and they were pretty good. After the show the vocalist commented on my vest and gave me a limited edition (1/100) parch which was really cool of him.

Yeah, I thought it was a pretty decent set. Really surprised they didn't play What Drives the Weak but I was fine without it ;)
They did have a good amount of success with AOB, TWW and TOL but I honestly think the band enjoys having the lower profile. They released Retribution independently even though the had the big label support with the album before that. It sounds to me like they don't wanna deal with the all the bullshit that can come with being popular and just want to concentrate on making good music and playing for their real fans.
That set is too short though. For a headlining show it should at least be three or four songs longer. How the hell do they not play Fire From The Sky:confused:
I'm just confused at why Shadows Fall never plays St. Lois anymore, when they used to be here at least twice a year.
Brian Fair lives in StL now, but that shouldn't have anything to do with it.
Been ages since I've seen these guys. I hope they will play a similar set...minus the Bob Marley cover... they don't need to play any covers
except that Dangerous Toys one

Does he? I didn't know that... I can't remember the last time Shadows Fall have done a headlining set in STL. The last few times have been support slots... It seems their popularity has declined over the years. They were getting kind of big after The War Within came out. They're one of the few bands i liked that came out of that era.
