Evanescence -- Clarkston, MI -- August 24th, 2012
 

The 1st band I saw was Chevelle. These guys are defintely a guilty pleasure for me. I want to not like them. The 1st time I saw them was on the 2nd stage @ Ozzfest 2002. They kept bitching to the crowd for not being into it enough & not moving around. Then I went to meet them at their signing, and their old bassist w/ his bleach-blonde hair was a total prick. However, I've seen them live about 10x now. I just really like their music a lot. I can't help it. Their set last night was pretty good. It was definitely more of an Evanescence crowd, though.

Evanescence headlined. I saw them open for KoRn in 2007 and really liked their set, so I figured I'd check 'em out again. I don't know any of their songs besides the ones on the radio. Well, now I am officially a fan. They were excellent! They sounded great & had a cool light show. Thumbs up!

No, they played a headlining show in Flint, MI. The lineup was a local band, Cavo, Chevelle & Evanescence.

hah I remember meeting the old bassist in 2003 and thinking the same

he's the brother of the singer, and former drummer (he left the band a while ago i believe). the bassist was kicked out for basically being a dick. they could never get along with him, and eventually he was shown the door. how ridiculous is that? You can't maintain your role in a cashcow band that your family is in, b/c you're just being an asshole all the time? what a clown.

I'm super stoked for this show. I've got tickets for this Wednesday at PNC Bank Center in NJ. I fuckin' love Chevelle. Absolutely can't wait to see them. And Halestorm rocks! Cannot wait to see them either. The lead singer is sexy as fuck and they totally bring it.

I've never listened to Cavo very much, but the songs I have heard are pretty good, so it should be fun to see them. And Evanescene is cool too, but I really wish Chevelle was headlining. I'll post a setlist too after the show.

I'd totally see Evanescence for nostalgia. My Immortal is a weak closer though, too mellow!
