Marilyn Manson -- Huntington, NY -- April 29th, 2012
Went to see Manson tonight since my buddy had extra tickets. We got to the venue fairly early and waited for a bit til The Pretty Reckless came out. I never really listened to this band and didn't know much about them aside from the singer being the girl who played Cindy Loo Who in the Grinch movie. Once they came on stage it was clear to me that this bands popularity has nothing to do with their music. Once Taylor Momsen hit the stage everybody starts whipping out their cameras and yelling for her to take her clothes off. Musically they're not too bad. Taylor Momsen is actually a pretty good singer but as I said, no one was really paying any attention to the music.
Pretty Reckless: (8:00-8:45) Hit Me Like A Man Since You're Gone Zombie Miss Nothing Just Tonight Goin' Down Cold Blooded My Medicine Make Me Wanna Die Under the Water Factory Girl After sort of a lengthy wait the cloth dropped and Manson came out. He opened with one of his new songs which sounded much better than the songs he did off his last album when I saw him at Mayhem a few years back. Manson had all kinds of cool props like a butcher knife mic, a smoke gun, a disco ball hat, and of course the giant podium during anti-christ superstar. He also used confetti in the middle of the set which I thought was a little odd. One thing that kind of annoyed me is how Manson will grab his crotch and shit, isn't the guy in his 40's? The other negative was the douche bags. The kind that whip their shirts off and mosh to songs no body wants to mosh to. Aside from that it was a pretty enjoyable show, better than when I saw him at Mayhem. I went for free so I cant really complain. Marilyn Manson: (9:30-10:45) Hey, Cruel World... Disposable Teens The Love Song No Reflection mOBSCENE The Dope Show Slo-Mo-Tion Rock Is Dead Personal Jesus Pistol Whipped Tourniquet Irresponsible Hate Anthem Sweet Dreams Antichrist Superstar The Beautiful People and one last thing... Well I guess we can't complain about that set so much. Four songs from the new cd is pretty light compared to what he did on the last tour supporting High End. There are no songs from Eat Me Drink Me. Besides Mobscene and Personal Jesus, everything else is Hollywood and older, so that's cool.

I was there too.
It was a good show. There were so many douchbags there, ugh! I'm tired of going to these shows, dishing out $50, and having the act play for barely over an hour. WTF? Put 5 more songs in the set for christ's sake! |
Seriously? He's playing the worst four songs from the new CD, and nothing fron High End or Eat Me Drink Me? Glad I didn't bother getting a ticket for the London show.

and one last thing...
I usually don't have a problem with goth chicks. However at the show I was at in Providence, some of them smelled like they hadn't showered since the The High End of the Low came out :barf:. Luckily the couple next me moved when the pits started. |
Why no songs from High End? No We're From America or anything!

Cause he doesn't like that album, he made it because he felt like shit and wanted others to feel the same way. He said he likes Antichrist Superstar and his new record Born Villain so there will be lots of stuff from those two records. |
I can't understand how the hell he isn't playing Overneath the Path of Misery! That song seems MADE to be performed live!
