Tool Is Touring The States This Summer

Just got an automated text message from the local Rock Station here in Minnesota. Tool will be headlining a festival in St. Paul in Late June (93X Fest I'm sure) So they will be touring the states then. It will be announced in a couple days.

I can't imagine Tool playing outside is as good as them playing inside with the lights. But if they have a good support lineup, I'll go see them.

They put on a great show back in February.

This better come to Chicago.

I can imagine they did, but I know the show they do in St. Paul will be outside. I'm sure musically it would be badass.
Three months have passed since Live Nation and the City of St. Paul trumpeted their plans for an annual music festival on Harriet Island starting June 23-24, but they haven’t offered so much as a peep or tweet since then over who is going to perform at the thing. Which leaves us resorting to rumor-mongering, if only to appease all the fans who've been hounding us for any little news (a good problem to have, for us and the fest).

With input from multiple, reliable sources – but without confirmation from Live Nation, so this is still conjecture -- the two groups that seem most likely to headline the inaugural festival are arty metal gods Tool on June 23 and outdoorsy good-vibe kings the Dave Matthews Band on June 24.
Tool sucks. If they come here again, I will just stay home again.

xskizzelzx90x 04-02-2012 04:07 PM

I still need to see them.

street_burial 04-02-2012 04:54 PM

I already know it'll either be in D.C. or Richmond this time around.

detuned 04-02-2012 05:15 PM

i wouldnt expect them to come back east already, they are generally pretty consistent as to not hitting up the same areas of the country two tours in a row. last tour missed northwest and midwest (except for toledo) so they will probably focus on those, much like the tour previous to the last (which had st paul).
