Iced Earth -- Montreal, Quebec -- February 5th, 2012
First and foremost, my football was Tebowed out of the playoffs. The decision to go to this show was easy.
Shoot To Kill
Demonic Ecstasy :rocker:
Living In A Whirlwind
The sound and energy was great! The new guitarist is doing quite well! As much as I enjoy watching the " Wall of Death ", I wonder if it is getting cliched? Fabulous way to open.
They started late. I was hoping I wasn't going to get hosed out of Dante's Inferno.......
Slave To The Dark
When The Night Falls :rocker::rocker::rocker::rocker:
Days of Rage
Watching Over Me
Dante's Inferno :flame::rocker:
The sound was AWESOME! Stu Block really fits so well with the music and his lead singer role, oh and his voice isn't half bad ;). The crowd was fired up, but when Dante's started the energy level shot through the roof. Maybe it was their first time seeing Dante also? My love for Iced Earth grows more every day!
End Of Innocence
Bastards Of The Machine
When All Is Lost
Inferno (Unleash The Fire)
Children Of A Faceless God
Of Sins And Shadows
Eve of Seduction
Set The World On Fire
I love Iconoclast so I was ok with the set being heavy from the new album. My only complaint was the sound was a bit muddy. I was standing at the soundboard and the bass and drums were just a bit loud. At times it seemed Russel was competing just to be heard.
Towards the end of the show Russel was drinking liquor from a special bottle. He was really starting to tie one on. I'm glad he didn't too loaded too early. He also started hitting on some guys in the front. It was funny.
Is it me or does Micheal Romeo look like Yngwie, and Micheal Lepond look like Geezer?
Symphony X delivered as they always have in the past!
Warbringer had the usual compliment of good shwag. I have a few of the items so I didn't research it too much. However, there was no prices on the T-shirts
Iced Earth's shirts were not that special. I wish bands would not be lazy and have album cover on one side with dates on the back. I am not sure what the T-shirt that says " Stop being a Pussy " ,with a picture of Jon on the front, is about. $30 for T, $40 for long sleeve, and $20 for flag.
They had some other stuff. I bought the Dante's CD and the earplugs case, totaling $8.
Symphony X had the same style of shirts. They also had beanies, wrist bands, rubber bracelets, and CDs. $30 for T, $40 for long sleeve.
This tour package is great! I think it will one the best of the year. I am looking forward to catching it in NY next month.
Oh, I am glad no-one spit on Jon this time!!
Great review! Very detailed (esp about the merch).
So jelly that Symphony X is not on the one -off date near me
Thanks for posting this stuff, man. I think I'm going to pass on the Vancouver show since I'm only half-interested and the timing isn't very convenient. Sounds like a good time though.
Stu Block is great in Iced Earth indeed. The crowd was really into them. A lot of people had left after them. But SX were awesome too.
There was quite a decent crowd early for Warbringer. They put up a great show as always. i yelled for Savagery and i know Kevill heard me but they didn't play it. :fingers:

I wouldn't want the STOP BEING A PUSSY thing as a shirt, but I would love it as a poster.
Hopefully I can catch them next month.
Thanks for the info about Stop Being a Pussy!
