Russian Circles -- Toronto, Ontario -- November 12th, 2011

Venue: Lee's Palace

Reason: Because apparently no one on here has attended this phenomenal tour yet, and I wanted a set list to ogle prior to this Friday.

Carpe
Atackla
Harper Lewis
Geneva
309
Philos
MlÓdek
Youngblood

Encore:
Death Rides a Horse

According to the setlist.fm entry, they played "Horse" as an encore. I find this hard to believe, because RC rarely does encores to my knowledge, but hey - anything is possible.

The 11/10 date in Columbus and the 11/15 date in Philladelphia had the same setlist as above, but with no encore (i.e., no "Horse"). The 11/14 date in NYC had the same setlist as above, but with no "MlÓdek" and "Horse" was played as the closer (not as an encore).

So there you have it. Four setlists for the price of one.

I am so excite for this fucking show. :snivel:

no encore for Buffalo... would have loved that! Great show though.. RC always delivers live.

Yeah, I think out of the 3 times I've seen them, only one show had an encore. They came out and I think said that they hadn't played the song in a while so if they fuck up it was our fault. We then got treated to "Carpe" if memory serves me correctly.

Damn; they come to Cleveland when I'm in Chicago, and come to Chicago when I'm in Cleveland. I wanna see this tour soooo bad.

I saw this band open up for HIGH ON FIRE about 5 years ago at some street festival.

Anyhow, I am a doom, trad, and power metal fan.

Sorry. I just don't "get" this band, but glad to see they have come a long way and are doing well.

In fact, I don't think I've ever seen them NOT play it, and Friday will be my fourth time seeing them.

Speaking of the set list, I'm just stoked as hell that they've decided to keep on trucking with "Geneva". That song is such a fucking beast. It might just be my favorite song of theirs. Also, I'm really excited that they're playing "309" live. I think that's the burliest track on the new album. I didn't used to think "Philos" would be a good live track until I heard them play it on their last tour. I'm glad to see that one back, too.

I mean, let's face it - Russian Circles really can't perform a bad song, album, set list or live performance. :fist:

Nope. Hence the amount of want.
Nope. Hence the amount of want.
Oh, son. You have no idea. No. Idea. They will tear your face right off and hand it back to you to use as a doily. Truly they will.

Don't fret, though. They tend to tour a fair amount after they release an album. I would say that after this headliner is done, they will probably hop on another tour or two with some other bands in a supporting slot. The good news is, they also tend to tour with other bands that rule - not always post-rock / post-metal bands, mind you (I saw them open for Clutch once), but usually the bands they tour with tend to be pretty awesome.

Or you could just drag your skinny yella ass home this weekend and meet your ol' granddad Nat at the Grog Shop. If you had a lick of fucking sense, that's surely what you'd do, uh huh.

Didn't know they used this word as far north as Cleveland
