Anthrax -- Minneapolis, MN -- October 16th, 2011
Earth on Hell
Fight 'Em Till You Can't Caught in a Mosh Madhouse Antisocial I'm Alive The Devil You Know Indians Got the Time In the End Only Encore: Among the Living Metal Thrashing Mad I Am The Law Excellent show. Belladonna really owns the new songs. He sounded great all night. The crowd was kind of quiet, but was active w/ moshing and headbanging. It took Anthrax about an hour to come out after Testament finished. People were getting restless. Belladonna apologized and said they had some sort of technical issue, so who knows. Anyway, the show exceeded expectations. The new songs are great and a I hope at least a few catch on and remain in the set for a while. |
So has anyone else come to the conclusion that Anthrax hates Persistence Of Time? I guess we've gotta accept that it looks like GTT is gonna be the only song ever played off it again.
It's cool that they're keeping ATL and I know the set will rock hard live:rocker: |
Very stoked about this show, but fuck, only 14 songs for a headline set? And no AIR or NFL? A little disappointing, but regardless I can't wait for this one. It's Anthrax w/ JOEY BELLADONNA!!!!

14 or 15 songs for a headline set is about as much as you're gonna get out of Anthrax anyways. They've never played long sets at all. The only things I would change is take out GTT for something else on POT and take out Metal Thrashing Mad for AIR or Be All End All. |
How about Armed and Dangerous or Medusa!!!!!

This really is too bad, especially since Metallica do 2+ hours every night, and Slayer have busted out some insane 25 song setlists in South America and Europe over the summer. Even Megadeth give 90 minutes and 18-19 songs when they're on a headlining tour. There seriously is no reason why they can't throw in AIR, Medusa, or Be All End All in the set; they were all played at the Big 4 shows over the past year. That would be an easy 90 minutes since their current sets seem to last around 75-80 minutes from what I know. |
The show was awesome! I'm happy with these guys again. Though it was a short set, it was two songs longer than MI and one song longer than Chicago. Got the Time was a nice surprise. Very large crowd for a Minneapolis metal show. I didn't expect to see people around the block in both directions.
Death Angel and Testament tore it up! Anthrax were on too. The new songs sounded great live. It's nice to get a change from their past shows, which were pretty much the same with Joey in the band. It's looks like the boys are back! My son came home with 3 different Testament picks, including Chuck Billy's, one Death Angel pick, and Testament's setlist. Very nice! Here's Testament's set: The Preacher The New Order Persecuted Envy Life Over The Wall Souls of Black Into The Pit Electric Crown Henchmen Ride More Than DNR 3 Days In Darkness Disciples of the Watch :rocker: |
OP has a great username

Bob Backlund approves |
Options for a username were down to Cross Face Chicken Wing or The Ugandan Giant. I decided Backlund was probably secretly into metal.
