Pretty Boy Floyd -- Las Vegas, NV -- August 27th, 2011
ARTIST: Pretty Boy Floyd
OPENER: Heavy Honey
VENUE : Count's Vamp'd

It was Saturday night and inevitable that something would be going on in Vegas. Fortunately, Pretty Boy Floyd was playing for the small cover charge of $5. Vamp'd is a rather intimate venue, and I'd say that maybe 75-100 people were in attendance. Pretty small crowd.

The openers, local-group Heavy Honey, were DECENT...but even that might be pushing it. They seemed like a nice group of people, and the cover they did of Radiohead's "Creep" was wicked awesome...BUT their set just dragged on and on and their originals were not too wonderful. Maybe it was an off night

In any case, Pretty Boy Floyd took to the stage at about midnight and played for approximately one hour. I was honestly surprised at how awesome they sounded! Steve Summers' vocals sounded even better than they did on the record and Ben Graves is a BEAST on the drums. The song "Wild Angels" was dedicated to Jani Lane, which was appropriate.

If these guys are in the area, don't hesitate to check them out. Wicked good times!

Pretty cool- Last time I saw PBF I thought they were just OK-

were they promoting a new album or anything?

for $5, that's a steal!

As far as I know, the only new album they have out is a KISS tribute album that consists entirely of KISS songs...but they didn't bust any of those covers out.

Steve did mention that "Do You Wanna Rock" and "Run For Your Life" will be on their new album. He was also saying that "Run For Your Life," much like "Toast of the Town," is a Motley Crue B-side that Nikki Sixx gave them permission to record and release. Should be interesting to hear a recorded version!
