Overkill -- Atlanta, GA -- November 15th, 2010
City: Atlanta
State: Georgia Venue: Masquerade Date: November 15, 2010 Tour: Killfest 25th Anniversary Unlike the other dumbass who left before Overkill I stayed and enjoyed the madness that was Overkill Bonded By Blood was first. Saw them back in September with Exodus and i was really disappointed with new singer. Their original has a much better thrash voice. Setlist (Incomplete) Mind Pollution Immortal Life Blood Spilled Offerings Feed the Beast Another Disease ? Prototype - Death Machine Gama Bomb was next. First time listening to these guys and they were very fun and had a lot of energy and got the crowd involved more than others. hope to see this band on some upcoming thrash tours. Setlist Zombie Blood Nightmare Final Fight Three Witches Hammer Slammer OCP We Respect You Hell Trucker Last Ninjas Unite Mummy Invasion Zombi Brew Next was Evile. This band was just amazing this time as they were back in March. They tore up the house and got a lot of attention because of their amazing skills. They only played 5 songs which sucked but they said they would love to come back next year. Setlist Infected Nation We Who Are About to Die Time No More Thrasher Enter the Grave The reunited Forbidden came next and their skills were just as good as their old school days. They also said they might be back because of their plan to tour extensively for this new album. Setlist Alpha Century March Into Fire Step By Step Adapt or Die Omega Wave Twisted Into Form Through Eyes Of Glass Chalice Of Blood Finally the thrash legends Overkill graced Atlanta with their presence or the first time in over a decade. They played a good selection of new and old material. This band definitely needs to tour Atlanta more often. They got one of the biggest crowds I've seen at a real metal show. Setlist Green and Black Rotten to the Core Wrecking Crew Infectious Bring Me the Night Hammerhead Ironbound Necroshine Thanx for Nothin' Give a Little Hello From the Gutter:rocker: Where It Hurts Old School:rocker::rocker: Horrorscope Elimination Fuck You:rocker: Overkill (Motorhead Cover) Fuck You Reprise |
I was pleasantly shocked at the great crowd response, on a Monday night no less. I would say there were upwards of 400 people at the show, and I think each and every band was impressed with the crowd's enthusiasm.
I have to say it was one of the best concerts I've seen in years. First time I'd seen Forbidden since the mid-90's and first time seeing Overkill since 1989! |
Yes, the crowd was great! Especially considering it was a rainy Monday night. After seeing pitiful crowds at recent shows at the Masquerade such as Nevermore or Exodus, I didn't know what to expect. But the Atlanta fans were starving for Overkill after a thirteen year absence, and they enthusiastically greeted the bands.
I captured three Overkill songs (Wrecking Crew, Hammerhead, and Ironbound) and one Forbidden song (Chalice of Blood) on video and posted to YouTube. You can find them by going to YouTube and searching for "Overkill Atlanta" or "Forbidden Atlanta". Awesome show all around. I had not seen or heard Evile before last night, but I was impressed and picked up their CD at the merch counter. I listened to it all day today. Good stuff. |

I saw this tour the first night in Rochester and we didn't get that, although that could have also been because it was a very late show and didn't let out until 1:45. I was really hoping to hear In Union We Stand, though! Oh well, hopefully next time |
We got the same Overkill set in Columbus minus Old School. I was expecting another song after Where It Hurts before the encore but we didn't get one.

Set was amazing - all bands really did well in my opinion and like others have mentioned, I was absolutely shocked how many people turned out.
Overkill fucking crushed it. Watch below and be amazed :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CJ1QYQWU8M8 |
I watched your video, KowalaBear. Excellent! Looks like it was professionally done. Best fan-footage I've ever seen, especially from a metal show!
