After 5 years of trying to see Slayer I finally got my chance! It's just crazy how many times they've played near me and how many times I've had to miss them due to circumstances beyond my control. The crowd crush started before the intro tape even began and I knew it was gonna be intense. As the intro started I felt a little bit "scared". Maybe it was because I knew the crowd would be nuts or because I remembered the feelings my first Slayer album (Seasons) gave me back when I was a sophomore in high school. I remember how "evil" that record sounded, it was awesome. Either way, it is a feeling I've never really had at a concert before and it was really fun to experience that new kind of emotion at a show.

Once the curtain came down the place got crazy. There were many times when I was singing the lyrics with my arms over my head trying not to get kicked in the face as security pulled a surfer over the barrier right in front of me. The crush was intense and I still have some sore ribs. Unfortunatly my Motorhead shirt got ripped. That was a bummer but I guess if it had to happen somewhere it might as well be at a Slayer show.

The band was really good even though they didn't interact with the crowd much. It was good to hear deep cuts like Spirit In Black and Skeletons of Society. Plus finally seeing classic songs like Angel of Death and Raining Blood was awesome. I'm proud to say I survived a Slayer show and maintained my spot front and center on the barrier.

Would definitely do again. :allan:

1. Yeah, I still have a "tired" feeling from the crush 3 days later.

2. Same, although I was a bit on the left of the rail. Surving a Slayer show is something to be proud of!

Just an amazing experience seeing Slayer live.
