Tyr -- Philadelphia, PA -- April 29th, 2010

Trondur I Gotu
Hold the Heathen Hammer High
Northern Gate
Hail to the Hammer (joined by Johan from AA for the chorus)
Sinklars Visa
Lokka Tattur
By the Sword In My Hand
Ramund Hin Unge

Seemed to go over real well opening for Amon Amarth. Holy Grail wasn't very good. Pretty sure AA did the same setlist they have been doing - they brought out the members from both bands to join them for the "ODEN GUIDE OUR SHIPS" part of Pursuit of Vikings, was pretty cool. Met all the guys from Tyr at the bar, had my picture taken with them. Also, the headline show in New York Saturday night is cancelled.

You know there was something about Holy Grail that annoyed me. They had all the elements that I should love, but the singer, reminded me of a power/traditional metal version of the singer from Warbringer (who also annoys me, as I find him to be quite goofy) so maybe that was it!

Great show overall! I really enjoyed TYR and Amon Amarth was great as usual. Although I was dissappointed they did not play Victorious March. Also wish TYR would have done The Wild Rover, would have been a fun sing a long.

Overkill is at the Nokia in NY on Saturday, perhaps this had something to do with TYR cancelling? I doubt it, but I'll pretend so!

Any idea why the balcony was closed? Been closed the last two times I have been there now

I have no idea! It's been closed for awhile now. The Troc does that sometimes too, usually depends on ticket sales, but last night was packed, so that can't be TLA's reasoning. hmmm

Now that I think about it, upstairs was open for Dragonforce/Sonata Arctica at TLA last year, as I recall going upstairs to purchase a Sonata shirt.

Last time I was at TLA was for Behemoth in January, balcony was closed they said it was ticket sales then, but last night was packed. Wasn't drinking last night, but it's just much easier being on the balcony.

I was at the TLA last Saturday for the Transatlantic show, and the balcony was open. My best guess as to why it would be closed is ticket sales. They can probably save money on security/bartenders by closing the balcony.
