Between the Buried and Me -- Cleveland, OH -- January 25th, 2010

Venue: Peabody's
Source: Me

All I can say is that was the best way to start the new year! If you have the opportunity to go to this tour, take advantage.

I arrived towards the end of Devin Townsend's set. From what I heard, he did some good stuff. I'm not too familiar with his DTP material. Cynic came on and played a great set. I would have liked to have heard a couple different selections, but since it was my first time seeing them, I was up for whatever. They even got the majority of the crowd to do yoga with them inbetween songs. Kinda weird, but funny and cool at the same time.

Nunc Fluens
The Space for This
Evolutionary Sleeper
Celestial Voyage
Wheels Within Wheels (apparently a song no one has heard)
Adam's Murmur
King of Those Who Know
Nunc Stans
Integral Birth

I've seen Between the Buried and Me once and they were in a supporting role. Seeing them as the headliner I knew was going to be brutal...it was. Same setlist as the other shows.

Obfuscation
Disease, Injury, Madness
More of Myself to Kill
Ants of the Sky
Alaska
Swim to the Moon
-----------
White Walls

The crowd was absolutely nuts! I haven't seen a place destroyed like that in a while. Everything was spot on (as usual). Great night overall...now I just have to get my hearing back.

You lucky son of a bitch. This must be from the upcoming EP. Crazy that they should debut a song in Cleveburg. How was it?

It was a cool song, pretty mellow. I'd like to hear the recorded version

Truth/Instrumental Jam
By Your Command

Devin was the highlight of the night, he put on such a good show. It was pretty weird how almost everybody did yoga with cynic. Im not a big fan of BTBAM but they put on a good show. That was the most packed I have ever seen Peabodys
It was pretty weird how almost everybody did yoga with cynic.
This is the second reference I've seen to people doing yoga with Cynic at this show - that must have been interesting. :eyes: What exactly did they have everybody doing? I'm sure you weren't all bent over on the floor on Downward Facing Dog pose or anything like that (or were you? ;)). I can just picture a bunch of metalheads standing there with one leg and both arms up in Tree pose or something...that would be hilarious. :D
That was the most packed I have ever seen Peabodys
Really? Were you there for Carcass last March? That was pretty packed. Nile had a pretty good crowd last week, too. I'm just curious how packed it actually was, considering that this was a Monday night show, and the lineup isn't one I would expect to result in a packed house.

Paul had everyone doing the crescent moon pose (whatever it's called) to the left and right.

It was pretty packed...from my experience at Peabody's, it was the most crowded show I have been to, so I would agree. The crowd was wrapped around half the bar. No karate kids either (big plus)

At any rate, glad my home town crowd showed the love last night. :D

Half Moon pose, that's what it's called.

I think the vast majority was there for BTBAM. Like I said, the crowd was absolutely nuts for them. Cynic got a good response, but it seemed like less than half of the crowd knew of them.
