Down -- Cleveland, OH -- September 22nd, 2009
Venue: House of Blues
Source: Me The Down boys sure know how to put on a show. The floor was going nuts the entire set. Weedeater opened. They were cool, very stoner sounding. Reminded me of High of Fire somewhat. Then, the Melvins went on and absolutely killed it. I've seen them a few times and this was probably the best I have seen them. I could see Kirk on the side of the stage playing air guitar next to Buzz. They played about 45-50 minutes and I only have a partial setlist: Dog Island Billy Fish Dies Iraea Hooch Night Goat The Kicking Machine The Smiling Cobra As I mentioned before, Down put on a great show. Phil was really appreciative of everyone coming out to see them and almost seemed to breakdown at the end of the set. He seems to be the one guy that can turn the floor upside down and get everyone moving. The set is as follows: Eyes of the South N.O.D. Lifer The Path New Orleans Is A Dying Whore Lysergik Funeral Procession Pillars Of Eternity Losing All :rocker: Ghosts Along The Mississippi Nothing In Return --------------- Hail The Leaf :rocker: Stone The Crow Bury Me In Smoke As they have done during most of their shows I'm sure, during the last part of Bury Me In Smoke, Pepper handed the guitar to the lone female roadie to finish. The Weedeater bassist took over bass and the Weedeater drummer took over the kit. Then after everyone left, Phil came out and we sang the end to Stairway to Heaven. Great night, can't wait to see them next time they come around |
