Yeah, they almost always play it. Getting boring now.

That Motorhead setlist needs the overhaul from hell. And dropping Bomber is not one of the changes.

Remember 1916 Lemmy? Orgasmatron? Sacrifice? The three post-Ace Of Spades albums that your fans love the most? Start playing shit from them.

And for God sakes fucking drop Metropolis! That song blows.

It's much better than Bomber. But they both need to be dropped. So does Overkill.

Sacrifice has only just been dropped. They've been playing that for years too.

Totally agree on 1916. Although I'd say Inferno is more popular. Maybe even March Or Die as well.

I've seen Motorhead six times in the last seven years. Five of those times they've played the exact same encore, which was brilliant the first time, boring as fuck now. The same goes for the In The Name of Tragedy/Going To Brazil/Jus' Cos You Got The Power/Killed By Death run. Identical every time.

I think they were playing some different ones back in 2002, but I don't have that exact setlist from the UK tour (I was at the Folkestone show). Other shows in that year they did things like Love For Sale, Civil War, We Are Motorhead, Nothing Up My Sleeve, Over Your Shoulder, Born To Raise Hell and Damage Case.

I've seen a few different songs over the years. Snaggletooth, The Chase Is Better Than The Catch, Love Me Like A Reptile, Killers, Shoot You In The Back, No Class, Sword of Glory all spring to mind. But since Ace of Spades is a terrible album, I've never been that impressed by the inclusion of less-frequently played tracks from it.

All albums with Phil Campbell >>>>> All albums with Eddie Clark

I've resigned myself to the fact that I'll probably never see my favourite Motorhead songs live: In The Year of The Wolf, Bad Religion, I'm The Man and Walk A Crooked Mile.

1916 was treated as a modern day classic in my social circle at the time it was released. The One To Sing The Blues is one of my favorite Motorhead songs. The thing about bands who constantly tour is they can get complacent, only swapping out a couple of songs from a new album every few years. Cheap Trick and The Ramones were like this too. It's a bit different when the band has to build a show from scratch after a year or two off.

Don't gimme that :finger:

All the monotonous Eddie Clarke-era stuff they play every show needs to go. The stuff from Ace of Spades, Bomber and Overkill are among the most boring, one-dimensional stuff Motorhead have done.

And even if those songs were any good, they're overplayed to Status Quo proportions and need to go, even if only to be replaced by different monotonous Eddie Clark-era stuff.

JRA 07-12-2009 12:34 PM

Some of the Bomber stuff was monotonous, but I wholeheartedly disagree for Ace and Overkill, even if there is filler. I mean for christ sake, those albums invented thrash metal! (with a little help from Venom and Priest of course, but still)

I don't mind them dropping Ace Of Spades or Overkill (but not both) so long as they replace either song with the song Motorhead.

SomewhereInTime72 07-12-2009 12:38 PM

I think they should keep Overkill, Ace of Spades, AND Bomber. But they should drop Stay Clean and Metropolis. They're both good, but aren't classic/awesome enough to not deserve a rest.
