Amon Amarth -- Sayreville, NJ -- April 24th, 2009
Time on the ticket said 6:30. That was actually the time when the doors opened.
7:30 - 8:00 Lazarus AD 8:15 - 8:45 Skeletonwitch 9:00 - 9:45 Goatwhore 10:15 - 11:35 Amon Amarth I wasn't familiar with any of the bands on the bill. I went with my friend who really likes Amon Amarth. We arrived around 8:10, so we didn't see Lazarus AD. We watched Skeletonwitch and Goatwhore from the bar area. I thought Skeletonwitch were pretty good. Here is what I remember from their set. Obviously I'm missing a few song titles, but the order and number of the songs is correct. I'm pretty sure "Beyond The Permafrost" was played but I don't remember where in the set. 1. ?? 2. ?? 3. Sacrifice for the Slaughtergod 4. Crushed Beyond Dust 5. Baptized in Flames 6. ?? 7. ?? 8. Upon Wings of Black 9. ?? Goatwhore did not impress me, at least not as much as Skeletonwitch. And I was starting to get drunk by the time they came on, so I don't have a coherent setlist to report. But I can tell you that they did play "Apocalyptic Havoc" and "Carving Out the Eyes of God". We moved onto the floor for Amon Amarth. As I mentioned before, I wasn't really familiar with them, but they put on a great show and the crowd was really into it. Thinking about it now, the setlist was probably the same as previously reported, but I can't say for sure. Highlights for me were "Twilight Of The Thunder God", "Runes To My Memory", "Guardians Of Asgaard" and "Cry Of The Black Birds". |
SKELETONFUCKINGWITCH!!!
The last song was likely "Within My Blood" and they've been playing a couple off their first album.:party::party: |
God damn I wish I had gone.....I need to see Amon Amarth and Skeletonwitch!

Baltimore was the only place where (as far i know) they didn't do Under the Northern Star and replaced it with rainbow bridge. |
Awesome set..... the same set they played in Buffalo two nights earlier. Ha ha I got into a car accident on my initial attempt to drive to the show but still made it in time for Amon Amarth's set..... nothing was gonna keep me from the viking horde!!!!
