What to say about this show? Well, just like the entirety of my trip, I feel like words don’t really express the proper depth or magnitude of it. My parents want to hear about my trip and I try and explain the coolest points and talk about the things we saw but to me it always comes out flat compared to what I actually experienced. Opening band: Unbeing
Tour: North American Tour 2013
Another great concert at Il Motore. I'm in love with that venue: it's intimate and beautiful, it has good sound and the bike ride from my home is about 20-25 minutes. The only inconvenience is that a fish shop just opened next to it and it smells funny when you get in. Affiance opened the show. I'd never heard of them, and they only got a 20-min set, but they were the best of the opening bands IMO.
Next was The Word Alive. This was my 4th time seeing them. They're decent. They covered "94 Hours" for all the people hoping to hear an As I Lay Dying song at the show. I thought that was cool. They did a really good job w/ that cover as well.

We arrived early in Ybor city around 4pm to wait for the Tigers Jaw concert happening at the Orpheum that night, for an hour or so we roamed Ybor city looking for a record/music store (with no luck), until around 6:15 when we headed to get in line in front of the venue, which was aggravating because the line was split into two separate lines due to the owner of the painting gallery not wanting anyone standing in front of the store, and everyone that arrived after we did just chose to ignore the... If you aren't aware, Mount Moriah is the alt-country band of Horseback's Jenks Miller. So, not metal, but metal-related, and absolutely brilliant. Miracle Temple is my favorite album of 2013 so far, and if you're interested in great storytelling and songwriting, you'd be remiss to skip it. Only like 25-30 people were at this show because a sold-out Mac DeMarco show was going on across town, but fuck Mac DeMarco.
