Oh wait, this isn't finalized. They're saying that they have 2, possibly 3 big name bands to confirm early next week.

More big name bands?!

Shit.

Bolt Thrower
Mayhem
Pestilence
Asphyx
Atheist
Enslaved
Marduk
Immolation

Add on 2 or 3 more big name (as far as death/black bands go) bands?! I can't wait for this, I hope I can make it. Mindblowing lineup.

You're forgetting JIG-AI!!!

Can't say I am, haha, was naming the big(ger?) name bands. If I was naming bands on the bill I like, that list would have been a bit longer.

But, I've actually never heard Jig-ai. Suggestions?

Mayhem (Norway)
Atheist (Florida)
Enslaved (Norway)
Marduk (Sweden)
Immolation (New York)
Swallow the Sun (Finland)
Pig Destroyer (Virginia)
Keep of Kalessin (Norway)

These plus a couple more big names, I almost would drive up there...

Have to say it. I'm hoping 2 of the bands are Impaled Nazarene and/or God Dethroned. It'd absolutely make the festival a perfect, will-not-miss event for me.

ImpNaz would be sick, but I think they're on a vacation right now.

ImpNaz would be sick, but I think they're on a vacation right now.

They're taking some time off from full activity after touring this year, planning on recording a new album sometime next year when they feel like it. They said there might be some one-off gigs done here and there, so, who knows?

Still extremely upset about not being able to make the trek northward to see one of their Karmageddon Canada dates. So MDF would make me a happy, happy metalhead.

The addition of black metal is kind of strange, but... fucking shit, this is a great lineup.

Aura Noir and Sigh are added. This should be the final line-up!

edit: Sigh and Aura Noir are appearing just for the fest, there are no US tours planned.

Oh fuck. You know this is a great bill when I keep forgetting that Immolation, Hail of Bullets, and Atheist are on this! There's just so many great bands! And now with the additions of Aura Noir and Sigh?!

Fuck, I really really need to go. The addition of those two great bands makes up for the disappointing Cattle Decapitation and Cephalic Carnage announcement.
I still think Impaled Nazarene should play. Maybe next year. Or never. Who knows. haha.

Oh hell. There's no way I can miss this. This is probably the best Extreme Metal lineup to ever hit the US.

I'll probably be there. I need to see Bolt Thrower and Asphyx!

Neat. I didn't like Car Bomb. Maybe I'll like Krallice.

Can't wait for this.

EDIT: Also, didn't like Today is the Day at all, and love Wolves in the Throne Room. These recent lineup changes have been completely win.

Set times announced!

http://www.smnnews.com/board/showthread.php?t=205399

Main stage is outside
Second stage is the main stage of Sonar.

Which, IMO, is FUCKING AWESOME. Seeing all of the main bands outside is going to rule, especially seeing Mayhem at night!

I can't wait, and can't believe it's only next week! Going to be fucking awesome.
