I strolled into Walmart for the latest Guitar World and was instead confronted by an AC/DC display... I didn't pick Black Ice... I'm just not that excited... AC/DC provided many a drinking soundtrack back in college but I'm not too sure I have much a future with them... more aptly, they with me.
Did you pick up Black Ice (or hooliganize it)? What's the verdict?

I like it. It is not going to make my year end top 10 or anything, but it is a pretty good disc.

I don't have it, but they have 6 songs from it up on their MySpace. It's nothing innovative or mind blowing, but what I like about it is that it sounds so much like classic AC/DC. :rocker:

Part of my hangup was price. I don't want to pay $11.88 for an AC/DC album. $7.99 is my sweet spot for AC/DC. If I pick it up, it will probably be from the used bin.

I'm basically not interested, what I've heard is that it's the same old classic AC/DC - which is very good. However, I already have, well, enough. I don't want to spend money on more of the same when I'm already very satisfied with the AC/DC I have now, yknow?

If i am to acquire this, i'd most likely hooliganize it (i'm assuming that means download).

Better than the new Metallica, on about the same level as the new Motorhead and Amon Amarth. Worth buying if you're an AC/DC fan, worth hooliganizing a couple of the song either way

I heard it last week at the listening party in London. If you like Brian-era AC/DC, you'll like this album.
It's no Stiff Upper Lip. I think that album didn't have a single weak song. This one has at least five which are too by-the-numbers.

Black Ice is exactly what I would expect from a, "new AC/DC album."
I'm with Ed though, $7.99 would be an okay point for purchase.
regarding price, you gotta remember who the target audience is. your typical old school AC/DC "classic rock for life" fan doesnt partake in much modern music, so aside from a new led zeppelin "best of" album this might be the only cd they buy all year.

if i was really crazy about AC/DC, $11.88 seems pretty reasonable.

Really? I thought Rock n Roll Train was one of the weaker ones. Found it pretty boring.
