View Full Version : Taking suggestions for a virtual show...

Alright then. After missing the Symphony X show, I dunno. Sorta been meaning to do my own for awhile now anyways. Probably aiming for a date in late October/sometime in November.

Buuut, I have no idea what band to do. I'd like to do a band that'll have people listening as opposed to just me, haha.

Personally, I'd want to do one of the following:
-Epica
-Dark Tranquillity
-Kamelot
-Primal Fear
-Behemoth

But I'm not sure how big the interest would be.

So, I'm looking for suggestions. I like just about any form of metal that isn't too -core, and I'll find a suitable opening band myself. So, just headliners.

Go.

Kamelot and Primal Fear!!!!!

This is what I was thinking of myself after I posted. So, currently my favorite idea. But, still, any suggestions from anyone else or would there be enough people happy with that?

something that's not heavy and/or power metal.

True, your Gamma Ray show did kinda start the ball rolling again... though the ultimate credit goes to PowerMaiden.

True, but he only did those at most once a year. And because the idea of people sitting around on computers listening to music in unison seemed silly, they were done few and far in between. Ever since my Gamma Ray show there have been shows poppin up everywhere.

Just as a note, I was going to do a Mercyful Fate/King Diamond virtual show on Halloween (maybe with Helloween opening?), so nobody plan one too close to that!

If i am available, I am hoping to attend. as to recommendations, i will let the mob rule and follow the crowd once a decision has been made.

I know i won't be able to make the tentative halloween virtual show because of werk (2nd shift).

Hm. Alright. Primal Fear opening for Kamelot it is. November sometime.

Then sometime after that I'll probably do God Dethroned/Behemoth or something to that extent for those who don't like the Heavy/Power Metal that these shows have been revolving around. :)

Awesome, I expect a lengthy Primal Fear set list for an opener. It should be like an hour, they have enough great material.

That's about what I was thinking. They're an awesome band, so I'll see what I can put into an hourlong PF set.

Well, let's take an informal vote.

Would you people rather see it October 30th or November 1st?

Would a Gamma Ray show on Halloween add insult to injury? :D

November 1st would be great for the Mercyful Fate show, I'd actually be able to attend.

As for the Primal Fear/Kamelot show, I'm looking at the very end of the year.

How are Mondays in December for everyone? Either the 22nd or 29th.

Or Sunday, either the 21st or 28th. I'm not picky.

I'm for sure not available on the 22nd. Have a final the next day, and would not allow myself to be distracted. As for October/November, I have no clue.

Well November 1st will be the MF/KD show. If I close at work, well, it won't start til 10. What the fuck else do you have to do on a saturday night ;)

As to Nov 1, i was debating on checking out Sisters of Mercy that night in Worcester, MA presumably for that goth fix, but i'd rather expand my knowledge of the King's material. I was so pissed when he cancelled his tour b/c of back trouble. And Kreator was on the bill. And Cellador (US based band with a European power metal sound) (my anti-Maiden friends felt they sounded like IM).

anyway, i am available Sunday and Monday night. Werk is 4 10 hour days and Monday is the weekend extension for me. And I'm looking forward to getting some Kamelot under my belt.
