Kiske's is really just far more prominent, so when Kai sings that low one live it sounds weird.

Oh, and I've found that in any backing vocal mix with multiple singers, Kiske's voice always sticks out in a really obvious fashion. See Avantasia's "The Scarecrow".

I listened to some online samples, and I have to admit, I wasn't that impressed. There were like maybe one or two songs that sounded upbeat and not at the same plodding tempo which feels like it would get old way too soon. :(

The tempo is part of it, but the main thing is that the songs are just insanely boring. Not a single catchy hook or chorus on the album, it all just meshes together as one mid-paced, doomy, unmemorable jumble. :(
