I thought of something that may not fit into this post. What if just H and Janick wrote a song together? Or if H, Janick and Dave wrote a song together?

Terrible choice.

his playing can be a teeny bit sloppy at times, but his explosive showmanship on stage makes up for it 10 fold.

Nope. Janick in the studio can write some decent solos and decent songs. Live his playing is usually fucking awful and he just acts like a retarded monkey on stage. I used to think Janick had redeemable qualities that cancelled out my dislikes, but now I just think Maiden needs to give him the boot badly.

Okay, the Janick argument has been had a thousand times. I was just making a cheap shot in which the cliche of it was the actual joke.

That does sound a little like a trainwreck. The rhythm section would be progging along is fine though :D

Vocalist - Anders Fridén (In Flames)
Guitarist/Vocals - Joe Duplantier (Gojira)
Guitarist - Dan Donegan (Disturbed)
Guitarist - Alexi Laiho (Children of Bodom)
Bassist - Ted Lundstrom (Amon Amarth)
Drummer - Chris Adler (Lamb of God)

^^^I rarely compliment myself, but that is one sick lineup^^^

They'd have to tour with someone though, and as usual I have more than enough time on my hands to be even more creative. They'd tour with:

Vocalist - Brock Lindow (36 Crazyfists)
Guitarist/Vocals - Daron Malakian (System of a Down)
Guitarist - Mick Thompson (Slipknot)
Bassist - John Campbell (Lamb of God)
Drummer - Lars Ulrich (Metallica)

And...

Vocalist - Phil Labonte (All That Remains)
Guitarist/Vocals - Gabriel Garcia (Black Tide)
Guitarist - Mark Morton (Lamb of God)
Bassist - Frédéric Leclercq (Dragonforce)
Drummer - Joey Jordison (Slipknot)

Mmmmm...that would make for one sick tour!:rocker:

For a power/speed metal band:

Rob Rock (Solo, Axel Rudi Pell) - Vocals
Gus G (Firewind) - Guitars
Roy Z (Bruce Dickinson, Halford) - Guitars
"Lord" Tim Grose (Dungeon, Lord) - Guitars / Vocals
Marco Panichi (Hibria) - Bass
Bobby Jarzombek (Riot, Halford) - Drums

For a more melodic metal band:
Oliver Hartmann (At Vance) - Vocals
Magnus Karlsson (Allen/Lande, Starbreaker) - Guitars, Keyboards
Roland Grapow (Masterplan, Helloween) - Guitars
Dennis Ward (Pink Cream 69) - Bass
Allan Sorensen (Royal Hunt, Cornerstone) - Drums

By the way, these are not by any means my picks for my favorite musicians out there, I just felt these picks would gel really well to create the best results. I also tried to make sure each group had at least 2 writers I really like, so the songs would actually be really good.

Vocals: Serj Tankian of System Of A Down :rocker:
Lead Guitar: Buckethead (solo artist) :shred:
Bass: Les Claypool of Primus :flame:

Drums: Jon Rice of Job For A Cowboy. :rockdevil:

F.Y.I people, I hate Job For A Cowboy, but his drum work is amazing.

And Serj Tankian is one of the best vocalists ever. overall, this band would kick ass if they actually existed. I'm not sure the mix of styles would work though.

I'm torn on this one. Gers SUCKS live, but I don't know that I'd want them to fire the man who was responsible for The Legacy, Dance of Death, and Dream of Mirrors. Songwriting is everything, really.

This one is tricky. You want great players, but it's also important that to choose people who would (hopefully) have complimentary styles, and it's very important to have a band that is heavily populated with songwriters.

Vocals: Tony Martin (just pretend he can still sing like it's 1988)
Guitar: Roy Z
Guitar: Randy Rhoads (always wondered what he might have accomplished if he hadn't been stuck in Ozzy's overrated band)
Keys: John Lord
Bass: Neil Murray
Drums: Cozy Powell (Powell and Murray were a TREMENDOUS rhythm section)
