I used to love this band, don't really care about them without Bonz. Tell me they didn't play a 45 minute headlining set?

Nope. They were supposed to headline (which admittedly would only have been a 1 hour set), but when they arrived in Europe at the start of the tour Ektomorf instructed them that they would no longer be headlining in the UK.

Makes no sense because Mojo are much bigger here than Ektomorf. Consequently at every show so far almost the entire audience were Mojo fans, and Ektomorf played to mostly empty rooms. One show they refused to play at all because the crowd was so small by the time they were supposed to come on.

They are OUTSTANDING without Bonz. I loved Bonz too, but the band is still shit hot and the new disc is awesome, especially the new Napalm Records version with another three new songs on.

It's more about how badly Rich Ward trashed Bonz in the press after they got rid of him, calling him a drug addict, etc. If you have a problem with someone, handle it like a man, don't take his drug problem to the media. I could not in good conscience give Rich Ward a nickel of my money ever again.

Do you know for a fact he was wrong? I don't so I'm not about to call him a liar.

No, I'm not calling him a liar, I'm calling him a scumbag for putting that out in the open.

Haha. I've got nothing against that. If it's the truth then it's the truth. I'd rather he came out with the real reason for sacking Bonz than some bullshit excuse.

I respect your opinion, I just don't agree with you. I'm also irritated I never got to see Mojo headline with Bonz...first time I saw them was in 1999 opening for Testament with SYL (amazing show). Had tickets to see them headline twice in Baltimore in 2000-2001, but they both ended up being cancelled due to weather (one a hurricane, the other an ice storm).

What would you have had him do, aside from keep Bonz?

I saw them once with Bonz in 2005. Good show, but last night's was better. I wish they'd stop booking such diabolically bad support though.

I would have rather just had him say "There are some personal and private issues that prevent Bonz from being our vocalist blah blah etc etc." Instead Rich says "I'm not going to use this forum to air what issues I view as private matters," then proceeds to announce to the world that Bonz has a drug problem. He says its private and personal, then proceeds to post it on the internet.

Yeah, fair enough, but I would have rather he omitted the first bit than the second. If I band I love drop a key member I want to know why. I don't want any of that "there are personal reasons" stuff. So yes, I agree, that statement is a little off, but I would have dropped the "I don't want to air..." bit and just come out with it.
