Normally, I would ignore UFO but I'm going to catch one of their dates on this tour because of their influence on Maiden.. not yet sure which date.. there is a lot of metal to be had this spring.

Unfortunately, UFO's bassist, Pete Way, won't be getting in the US for this tour. Visa hassles. Let me tell something, I'm going to sleep a lot safer tonight because our government denied this so-obivous-terrorist-threat-to-our-national-security-son of a bitch a visa. NOT! :fight:

The visa thing blows. I'm still considering going to a show on this tour.

Doesn't surprise me. When I saw them in 2004 he couldn't make it either. Too bad. Pete's a legend, as are UFO in general.

For anyone that isn't familar with UFO, I strongly recommend them. Their work from the early-to-mid 70s into the early 80s was extremely influential to many many bands, but primarily Maiden. Steve learned everything he knew about stage performance from Pete Way. Schenker and Paul Chapman are both excellent guitarists and when I saw them in 2004 with Vinnie Moore he was amazing as well. Very good and underrated band, especially for their place in rock and metal history.

Anyone know the story behind Pete's Visa problems? Looks like this isn't the time...

I prefer the newer stuff myself. Walk On Water, Covenant, Sharks, You Are Here and The Monkey Puzzle are excellent albums. But they sound awesome live on all of their stuff with Vinnie on guitar. Saw them on their Monkey Puzzle tour in 2006. Great show.

Awesome when I saw them, unfortunately they didn't have Way then either. If they played the Lehigh Valley again I'd probably see them again in a heartbeat, but with all the shows I already have lined up I doubt I'll hit Sayreville for this.
