I don't like my power metal very powery though. I'm a big fan SA, Helloween, Blind Guardian, and that's basically it.

Well, again, you're kind of showing youre lack of knowledge of the genre, or at least when it comes to classification.
Power metal bands you could call on being "too powery" would include Helloween, old Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius, Freedom Call, Gamma Ray, Hammerfall, you get the idea.
As far as the stuff I mentioned:
Dungeon is really an old school traditional and speed metal band more than they are a power metal band. Nocturnal Rites at times are very generic power but do it better than almost anyone else in the genre, big or small, Firewind play a generally quite unique brand no matter what album you listen to, and At Vance has far more to do with 80's acts like Whitesnake or Yngwie's early stuff than anything like Helloween.

It probably has something to do with the fact this is my first time listening to Flogging Molly. They're like...I don't know, Jethro Tull meets Green Day or something equally awesome. Actually, having listened to the Pogues now, I'd say that the Decemberists came out of one side of the Pogues' sound, and Flogging Molly from the other. Either way, it's just a really cool style and they pull it off majorly.

Yeah, I guess. Their style changes quite a bit over time, but that is the album they're known for. It's a genius album if you can get into it. Eclipse is the album I'd recommend if you were trying to listen to newer Amorphis. But older Amorphis is better. ;)
