I've had an iPod for almost a year and a half and have had NO problems with it whatsoever. And you get used to manipulating them while driving, really. I think they're just quality machines, and seeing as I love iTunes as well, it's the perfect glove.

I just hate the iPod interface and I hate iTunes. Simple, yet, effective reasons for not owning an iPod.

Not owning any mp3 player for the last 5 months or so is driving me crazy though. Especially since I spend probably at least 7 hours on trains weekly.

Politics are fine, but why do you need to get so in the face of people with religious beliefs? Just leave them alone. Not all Christians are bible-thumping, backwards hicks, and those that aren't should have their beliefs respected.

And the belief that it's all bullshit should be equally respected. It's like racial equality. People only shout about it when it suits them.

Declare something Black-only, that's fine. Declare something white-only, people scream racism and you get lynched.

Wear a t-shirt praising God, fine. Wear a t-shirt denouncing God, disrespectful.

Anyone smell bullshit?

Maybe we should all get together and write an Athiest Bible. That seems to be the get out of jail free card with beliefs.

Ha, not quite the thread I expected when I saw "Christmas Wish Lists?"

Apple in general is pretty lame, yes, with it's mindlessly devoted fanboys, but the iPod is a quality product. I've had one for two years now, and it's served me great. Certainly better than the competing mp3 players.

My Sony Walkman (the older 20GB model that they don't make anymore) with a harddrive has been fine so far. Had it for just over a year. Every now and again it'll crash, just like computers do, usually when I ask it to do something right at the moment the battery runs out, but I just hit the reset button and all is well. No bullshit format issues either.

The software's not the greatest in the World, but it does the job and rips CDs really quickly, so that's fine.

still haven't heard any problems about any of the nano models. I've had the 20gb black/white screen model for about 2 and a half years. I'll probly break down and buy a new one going into college, since they end up being next to nothing when you get the student discount with a laptop.

And on the EMG's, check out the new Duncan Blackouts. They're supposed to have more midrange and less noise.

I trust my first amendment rights are still in place. Probably not, but I can at least hope, right? ;)

Well, you do remember there's an actual Patriot Act provision that lets the government examine what books people check out from the library in order to look for suspicious patterns, right?
