Well, I'm glad I can just go to Philly instead of NYC now, as it's a lot closer and more conveniant, but on the downside now my suspiscion that the NYC date would be a DVD shoot is pretty much void.
And god dammit, is it impossible for bands to pick good support bands? Why couldn't Redemption have supported SX instead of Dream Theater? I wouldn't mind Echoes of Eternity again either... I'm not really upset over Epica, not a fan but I can tolerate them... on the downside, this will be my FIFTH fucking time seeing Into Eternity, and I hate them! Can't they learn to stay off of bills with good, talented bands?

I knew as soon as I saw Into Eternity listed this morning that you would flip out. Not that I don't agree with you, because I do. I have (unfortunately) seen them 3 or 4 times in the last two years. When they opened for Edguy in Chicago, the singer said that this would be their last tour for their current release, and half the crowd cheered. It was rather amusing.

The other downside to this news is that the Chicago show in April is on my wife's birthday. I will more than likely have to skip this one.

:pissed: :pissed:    :grrr: :grrr: :( :( :bouville::bouville::headoff:

Yes... though not with the current line up, if that's what sucks.

I'd give anything to be in audiences that gave them a cold shoulder. Usually the audiences around here embrace them, which only feeds their silly little stage egos. I've never been more disgusted hearing someone brag about how "metal and deserving" they were to be up there.
As I mentioned, this will be #5 for me, and if you look at the bands I've seen them with, something just doesn't add up:
1.Hammerfall/Edguy
2.Stratovarius
3.Gamma Ray
4.Edguy
5.Symphony X

The thing that annoys me is that there's a massive abundance of great possible support acts out there, great new-er bands that would be beautifully appropriate for some of these shows... why can't someone bring Nocturnal Rites? Astral Doors? Masterplan? Bloodbound?

I would love to see Masterplan! Nocturnal Rites would be good as well.

For sure, for sure. Noc are one of my 10 favorite bands for sure, and I'd kill to see them live. Masterplan as well. There's so many great bands over in Europe that I understand can't really afford to come to the US to do their own tour, but it would be nice to see them supporting someone...

... and I certainly cant wait on ProgPower to bring anyone, as that festival is declining, or so it seems based on this past year's lineup and the one from this year. I haven't even heard of like 4 or 5 of the bands on for next year.
